Rosophia is a mineral discovered in the Rocky Mountains of the United States. This stone is composed of red-colored feldspar, transparent or white quartz, and black biotite. The quartz component of Rosophia belongs to the trigonal (hexagonal) crystal system, with a hardness of 7. The feldspar component belongs to the monoclinic crystal system, with a hardness of 5 to 6. The name Rosophia comes from “Rose of Sophia,” meaning “the heart of wisdom.” Robert Simmons chose this name because this stone easily allows one to feel the flow of the heart, and in his intuition, he believes the stone carries the qualities and presence of Sophia, the Spirit of the World.

Discovering the Magical Process
In the following, the term “I” refers to Robert Simmons.
Story Background: In August 2008, my wife Kathy and I traveled to Santa Fe, New Mexico. We had both been invited to give lectures at the Sophia Conference, organized by the Institute of Transpersonal Psychology. When we were shown to our lodging, the first thing I noticed was a colorful stone, about five inches in size, placed on a shelf by the door. After setting down my luggage, I picked up this salmon-pink rock with white spots and placed it on my chest.
Before long, I could feel a sweet, swirling flow of energy joyfully circulating within and around my heart. This current was both strong and gentle, nourishing and inspiring, healing and playful. I was astonished to experience such a direct and powerful spiritual connection with this stone. I had never seen such a stone before, and I thought I already knew almost all the gems and crystals in the world. I handed the stone to Kathy, and she immediately felt the delightful energy vortex as well. I supposed that the stone, which had appeared synchronously on the shelf of our room during the conference, must have been left there by someone who had discovered it near the conference center. The center was located on a small hill beside a canyon. Later that day, I set out for the dry creek bed, searching in corners and crevices for more of the new stones. After exploring the canyon, I found dozens of pieces to bring home at the end of the conference. When I returned to Vermont, I could hardly wait to show my friends and colleagues the new “Sophia Stone.”
Once again, almost everyone could quickly and easily feel the flow of energy in their hearts — even those who had never touched a stone before. I could not forget these new stones, and I knew I wanted to offer them to all the crystal lovers who read our catalog. But there was no way to purchase them; if we wanted them, we would have to return to New Mexico to find them!
The strong feeling was that this new gemstone is an important part of crystal work and mental evolution under the guidance of Sophia. I set out early for Denver on my autumn buying trip, planning to first go to New Mexico to look for more of these “Stones of Destiny.”
Our mail-order staff member Justin came with me, and the story we told awakened his own sense of adventure. We drove continuously for thirty-nine hours in order to have a few days to search. In the original canyon, we found a small number of stones, which I now call Rosophia
I like this name, inspired by the swirling heart-flow radiating from the stone, as if a many-petaled rose were blooming within the human heart. We searched in other places in the region, as well as in northern New Mexico and other parts of Colorado. By the time we were ready to return home, we had found enough salmon-colored stones to produce all the forms I desired — raw stones, tumbled stones, spheres, hearts, beads, and jewelry. After we returned from our Rocky Mountain journey, we began to work with Rosophia both outwardly and inwardly.
Stone of the Heart
Rosophia is essentially a stone of the heart. Its flow of energy quickly and deeply enters and permeates the chest, the inner heart, and the surrounding space, bringing sensations of comfort, calm, and gentle caress. Through this stone, people feel as if they are being touched by the invisible hands of Divine Feminine love — an intimate presence vast enough to fill the world and even the universe, while at the same time fully aware of and caring for every human being.
The feeling quality generated by these stones, as Simmons describes, is a subtle yet powerful sweetness. They bring a sense of inner beauty, a centered calm within, and a gentle appreciation for every perception and for all beings that constitute the world.
Holding Rosophia, one feels a softening of the heart, yet with undiminished strength. We see more clearly, as the veils of stress and anxiety are lifted. Compassion increases, as fear has been calmed.
The heart-centered spirit generated by Rosophia inspires our ability to embrace each moment in a fresh and free way, ready to respond with clarity and creativity. For self-healing, Rosophia is highly recommended, as it is suitable for almost everything — essentially a stone that helps one become whole.
It helps to calm the emotional body, release stress, and dissolve repetitive negative patterns on all levels. It is especially beneficial for the heart. My feeling is that its flow of energy can restore the heart’s natural, healthy function — both as a physical organ and as the center of consciousness.
For illnesses that stem from negative self-image or fearful attitudes toward the world, Rosophia can serve as a powerful spiritual remedy. Its self-affirming qualities make it an excellent ally in treating conditions in which the body turns against itself, such as autoimmune diseases.
Simmons believes that it is a stone that can work spiritually, supporting blood circulation and perhaps also the lymphatic system. On a psychological and spiritual level, Rosophia can help address issues arising from low self-worth, fear of the future, distrust of others, and various stress-related difficulties.
This lovely stone helps to free a person from negative patterns caused by old wounds from this life or past lives. When necessary, it also aids in bringing repressed matters to light so they can be released. It can assist in recognizing unconscious patterns that have repeatedly led to similar problems.
It encourages a strong sense of self based on inner truth rather than egoic pride. On a more mystical level, Rosophia can help awaken the consciousness within the heart.
This is its greatest potential gift, for when we encounter our true Self — the one dwelling within our hearts — we enter the realm of wholeness and ultimately find our true home.
We come to realize that our truest self is this indwelling heart-being, not the imagined person we think we are. This heart-being knows every detail about us and loves us without any judgment.
Simmons felt a resonance between Rosophia and this deeper “Self,” and through his intuition he knew that the heart’s energy flow brought by the stone supports the growth of a stronger and more conscious web of relationship between us and our deeper self.
Behind the true Self he describes is Sophia, the World-Soul. By coming to know the true Self more deeply, we simultaneously enter into a more conscious, loving, and co-creative partnership with her.
From all that he has come to understand, this is our truest destiny. Every step on this path is an entryway into joy. Rosophia allows us to touch her and to be touched by her.
New Attunement-Encounter with the True Self
All stones on Earth express, to some extent, the qualities of the World-Soul. Although stones such as Azeztulite seem to carry frequencies more resonant with what people call the Sun — the Divine Masculine energy — these stones are not without Sophia’s harmonious and spontaneous expression. Rosophia, in particular, seems filled with the loving energy of the Divine Feminine as World-Soul. In Rosophia one can feel a playful quality as well as the love that nourishes all things.
Robert Simmons: “The emotions Rosophia infused into my vibrational field were not only the swirling currents of love, but also a jubilant playfulness, inviting me to awaken and join her. I felt that the intimate nourishment from Rosophia was meant to heal and strengthen our psyche, energy field, and the parts of our bodies that have been fragmented or damaged by the many stresses and overwork of human life. When we are once again whole and strong (or perhaps ultimately), the being of Rosophia seems to say: ‘Dance with me!’ I felt without doubt that the World-Soul wants us to become her partners, and not merely her children.”
We are invited to join the co-creative dance of the world’s formation. Although she has the power to nourish us, my heart tells me that Sophia must have advocates, defenders, and lovers who, once they understand who she is, wish to serve her. All of this can be realized through meditating with Rosophia
When one meditates with Rosophia, the first sensation is often a gentle vortex of energy flowing into the depths of the heart, bringing a feeling of receiving love and being softly invited into a relationship of love. As attention is placed on these heart currents, our entire being begins to “revolve around the heart,” and the awareness of the heart fills our whole consciousness. Within this awareness lies not only the sense of the self we already know, but also the echo of an “other self” dwelling at the inner center. Rosophia can help us awaken the “I” within the inner cave, and that “I” is our truest self.
For countless years, many mystical traditions have spoken of the truth that within each person there are two selves. Our superficial and materialistic culture has nearly erased the memory of the “other self” dwelling deep within. Because this presence is the spark of Sophia within us, and because Sophia’s very essence is love, neither she nor our “other self” will force themselves upon us. Both wait for us to turn toward them—toward her. When we extend the invitation, we must be sincere, maintaining focus and listening, for the inner voice is soft, especially at the beginning. Only in times of urgent need or when overwhelmed does the inner voice speak loudly and powerfully. This is why cultivating a dynamic relationship is essential—one in which the everyday self turns toward the soul self.
Robert Sardello calls this our perfect essence. By doing so, she is encouraged, and the deepest part of ourselves is also encouraged to speak with us. Usually, the messages come not as words but as images, and these images must be felt. Yet if we bring patience and attention to the inner flow of energy, we can receive treasures greater than anything else.
Rosophia offers in many ways this gift that dwells in our hearts. Its current of energy encourages our hearts to come alive. When the heart awakens and we feel its selfhood, an added unfolding flows through us like the circulation of blood, reaching every part of our being. In this flow, we become the Holy Grail, the renewed Grail, for our very bodies contain the elixir that nourishes the spirit—sufficient to heal the world.
All of the above arose when Robert Simmons placed Rosophia on his heart and listened. In terms of its feminine qualities, its resonance with our soul, and its affinity with the Earth, Rosophia is the stone that most deeply resonates with Sophia among all stones.
Companion Stone-Azeztulite
The following is an excerpt from the actual experience of Robert Simmons:
When I first encountered Rosophia, I began wearing two tumbled-stone necklaces: one of Rosophia and the other of my favorite, Azeztulite. A few days later, I noticed that when I wore these two stones together, I felt an amazing and powerful energy. Sometimes, even while eating dinner or watching a movie, I would suddenly feel a strong current of energy pouring down from the top of my head and also rising from below. They seemed to meet and sometimes connect within my heart. I felt an intense longing between these two energy streams, and when they both entered my inner being, I experienced profound joy and fulfillment.
Sophia Rose embodies and radiates the energy currents associated with Sophia—love, generosity, wisdom, harmony, beauty, gentleness, sorrow, creativity, and courage. When a person simultaneously holds or wears Sophia Rose and Azeztulite, their energy currents merge in an astonishing way.
I feel the energy currents of Azeztulite as light penetrating the material world—an extension of the spiritual realm in a gesture of love and blessing. Within my heart I see these currents as golden light descending from the crown chakra into the body, infusing and flowing through our liquid crystal body matrix. Emotionally, Azeztulite feels like the complete benevolence and love of a vast, luminous divinity.
I feel that Sophia Rose is the feminine counterpart to the more masculine radiance of Azeztulite. The energy currents of Sophia Rose arise from within matter, giving a sense of darkness, nourishment, and intimacy. Her yearning is “upward,” moving from matter toward the light of spirit.
When these two currents of energy meet in the heart, an astonishing alchemical transformation occurs. One can feel these two long-separated presences uniting within the vessel we offer them—the chalice of our heart. In my inner vision, such a meeting gives birth to a new spiritual being, connected to the “I” within our heart, though far greater than the self I have known.
Seeing such visions and experiencing them personally inspires people to dedicate themselves to realizing the vast potential that may unfold. I am convinced that these two currents or presences (which we might call Christ/Sophia, male/female, or heaven/earth) long to unite within the material realm.
Spiritually, they may already be united, but their opportunity to incarnate depends on us—on our free choice. If we make ourselves the vessel for their union, they can fulfill their longing. Their inner union within us transforms us into the full realization of our destiny—free and awakened spiritual humanity, co-creating with the Divine, transforming ourselves into beings of light and transforming the Earth into a planet of light. These sacred beings have already entered Sophia Rose Stone and Azeztulite.
Like the beings or energy currents within the stones, their potential remains frozen until we enter into relationship with them; only then can they freely express themselves in this world. Spiritually, they become the Holy Father and Holy Mother, and we become the Holy Child. In a sense, we all co-create one another, just as in human life there are no true “parents” until a child is born.
When we wear Sophia Rose Stone with Azeztulite or meditate with them, we often feel high-frequency streams of light energy penetrating the crown chakra and sense the invisible current of Earth’s love rising upward through the body, meeting the light flowing down from above.
I hesitate to begin speaking about the more superficial benefits or potentials of Sophia Rose Stone, because my heart fervently supports the deepest purpose of Sophia Rose Stone and Azeztulite as I understand them.
Still, I must say a few words. I feel that Sophia Rose Stone benefits the heart in every possible way—from the deepest spiritual level to the physical plane. Naturally, its influence can help people easily release stress. (I have found that when I place Sophia Rose Stone near my heart as I prepare for sleep, it dissolves stress, relaxes the mind, thoughts, and emotions, and allows me to enter deep, restful sleep. It can also encourage us to dream of Sophia.)
The influence of Rosophia encourages us to incline toward self-love—to experience ourselves as love itself. Rosophia helps us feel close to the Divine Feminine and reminds us that we are never alone in this world, for at every moment we are held in her embrace.
All of this works on the spiritual level to generate peace throughout our entire being, and when peace is present, disharmony disappears. Thus, as a stone of spiritual healing, Rosophia embraces our whole being—physical body, astral body, etheric body, and all other dimensions—bringing us harmony, which is her very essence.
Like the Philosopher’s Stone of alchemy, Rosophia appears quite humble on the outside and can easily be overlooked when passed by. Yet, if someone notices her and turns to her wholeheartedly, her touch is unmistakable and immediately brings a feeling of being cherished.
Rosophia is a slightly reddish stone, while the Philosopher’s Stone in alchemical records is described as red and white, depending on its stage of transformation. (I correspond the white aspect of the Philosopher’s Stone to Azeztulite.) There are numerous references in alchemical literature—most notably Aurora Consurgens—that associate Sophia with the Philosopher’s Stone.
Rosophia resembles the Philosopher’s Stone in both appearance and quality, and this fact is an exciting discovery. In alchemy, it is said that creating, attaining, and receiving the Philosopher’s Stone can bring the alchemist gifts of enlightenment, healing, wisdom, rebirth, and even immortality.
Whether this means physical immortality or something purely spiritual is unclear. The alchemist must do much inner work to reach the stage of union with the Stone. My sense is that alchemy itself was inspired by the coming transformation of humanity and the Divine—a transformation that is beginning to ripen in these times.
This may explain why, at least in our time, stones such as Rosophia, Azeztulite, and Moldavite have been discovered with qualities reminiscent of the legendary Philosopher’s Stone—manifesting in the material world as minerals. My own intention is to pursue inner alchemy, combined with my work with the stones, to see with my own eyes what is possible. I encourage interested readers to join in this endeavor.
Partner Stone-Shaman Master
Rosophia generates a special harmonious resonance with the stone known as Master Shamanite, deepening Rosophia’s connection with the inner realms of the Earth and the depths of consciousness.
These are the realms of dreams, the realms of the shamanic journey, the dwelling places of the Black Madonna and Kali. They are the faces of Sophia (Rosophia), and also the faces of Kuan Yin and Mary. Yet all of these are human masks, covering Sophia—the unseen, fleeting, dancing beautiful being—who signals to us through her stone.
The combination of Azeztulite, Rosophia, and Master Shamanite creates a powerful resonance with the Tree of Life. Master Shamanite, working in synergy with Rosophia and Azeztulite, forms patterns and energetic states of the Tree of Life within the human body. The grounding, protective, and purifying energies of Master Shamanite stimulate the “roots” of our body’s tree; Rosophia, located at the heart’s center, fulfills the role of the trunk—bridging above and below, providing stability and circulation of life flow; Azeztulite awakens the “leaves” of our vibrant Tree of Life, stimulating the upper chakras and drawing in the light of the Central Sun, which animates the entire tree and provides the energy for growth.
Humanity is destined to become the bridge between the material and spiritual realms, just as a tree truly forms a bridge between heaven and earth—drawing nourishment from below and receiving the light of life from above. The image of the Tree of Life serves as our own sacred template, helping us align our will with this purpose.
Combining the three stones—Azeztulite, Rosophia, and Master Shamanite—invites and awakens this pattern, allowing it to manifest and be realized within each of us and in the world.
About Alchemy Four Pillar Stones
Rosophia and Azeztulite, together with Moldavite and Phenacite, are recognized by Robert Simmons as the Four Pillar Stones of Alchemy.
Robert Simmons: “In the previous material, I sensed that Rosophia is the stone most directly connected to Sophia, and I also perceived its role in the alchemical transformation. We also closely observed the dynamic energy pattern between Rosophia and Azeztulite—a pattern of energy that fosters within our hearts the sacred marriage of Heaven and Earth, the union of above and below. This is precisely the goal of alchemy, akin to the creation of the Philosopher’s Stone.”
But the pairing of Rosophia and Azeztulite may only hint at a possibility rather than fully embodying it. The other two Pillar Stones can also play a role in this co-creation: the accelerated evolution of Moldavite and the visionary power of Phenacite provide essential elements for the contents of our alchemical vessel. And what is that vessel? I believe it is our subtle body and our physical body—the perfect interweaving of these—and the harmonic “chord” of the four cornerstone stones is the best version of my alchemical transformation “recipe.”
My Meditation Experience
In fact, when I first had Rosophia, I did not particularly intend to connect with it. But some time ago, one day, I held my Honey and Cream Azeztulite, trying to once again feel the “World Soul—Sophia,” an experience I had not had for a long time.
“The World Soul—Sophia” is something mentioned by Robert Simmons, and I have shared before that it was during one occasion, when I connected with my Honey and Cream Azeztulite, that I first felt this being—or rather, this concept. For detailed content, you may refer to the last paragraph of this piece.
Honey & Cream Azeztulite
Because I hadn’t thought of this term for a while, I picked up my Honey Butter Azeztulite again, wanting to connect with the concept of “World Soul – Sophia.” Before long, however, I heard a voice — “Rosophia.” In that instant, I understood that Robert Simmons had discovered this stone, Rosophia, and named it as such because he had truly felt its connection with the “World Soul – Sophia.”
I imitated him, holding a Rosophia stone in each hand and lying on the bed, feeling them without any expectation. I sensed that Rosophia not only works on the heart chakra but also brings inspirations related to the throat and root chakras. Yet most of what I felt was beyond these chakra experiences — it was as if the stones were guiding me to wander freely through my inner world and interact with certain aspects of my daytime life, offering answers or revelations. You could say they actively stimulated my senses, generating a rich flow of information, giving me inspirations, hints, or even prophecies. After I drifted into sleep, I had many colorful and vivid special dreams. I feel that Rosophia is like an amplifier that magnifies my perception of my true inner self, bringing many things into sharper clarity.
Overall, Rosophia feels like the embodiment of the “World Soul – Sophia.” Through it, one can attune to and experience everything related to that essence, yet what it holds can never be explained by just fragments or images. I sense it as a highly collective, high-frequency consciousness, so each time I try to connect with it, I receive a different experience. I would define it as a kind of oversoul — more like the collective consciousness of Earth and ourselves — although in reality it cannot be fully defined in words.
It is indeed a stone that can help us connect more deeply with the Earth plane. Robert regards it as one of the four great cornerstones of alchemy, and it is highly recommended to experience it together with Azeztulite. When I hold it in my hands, I feel that its speed and frequency of vibration are just as rapid as those of Azeztulite. I am still playing and experimenting with them, and I will continue to share any insights or information as they come.
PS. Some people like to make fun of the stones that Robert Simmons has discovered and named. Rosophia is one of them — they think this stone just looks like granite, so they mock Robert’s connection and naming. Just like with Azeztulite, they believe it is merely a commercial act.
Honestly, I don’t know whether Rosophia and granite are the same. I don’t have the instruments or expertise to analyze a stone’s composition. But just like with Azeztulite — when you connect with it, feel it, and it brings great help to your life, then even if it is granite, so what? I think those stones used in construction are also products of nature’s minerals. If you come across homes using such stones for décor or furniture, take a moment to feel them carefully — they too sing songs full of energy.
